A durable EVA foam upper combined with a soft wool-blend lining makes these boots second to none in terms of comfort and insulation. In terms of design, the boots are inspired by traditional northern Japanese fishing/road boots. In other words, although some people wear them all year round, these boots were created for harsh, snowy weather conditions.

FUBUKI – BRAND STORY

FUBUKI™ was founded in Niseko, Japan, by Swedes, and is developed by an international community of snow lovers. With global recognition from both professionals and amateurs in the winter sports industry, it is often surprising that the company is still run by its founders, Kalle Norman and Christofer Ljunggren.

And no, it is not run solely by these two. A 26-year-old (at the time of writing) Swedish childhood friend handles everything from designing new products, managing partnerships, accounting, marketing, customer service, to… you know how it goes.

Before Kalle started stacking pallets of boots in his student apartment, he went skiing in one of the snowiest places on Earth: Hokkaido, Japan. In fact, the Japanese language uses over 100 words to describe snow. FUBUKI means blizzard, and it is fitting that on a stormy day, while skiing, Kalle discovered unique, unbranded, waterproof winter boots worn by all the skiers and locals.

These were the humble beginnings of FUBUKI, although neither the company nor the name existed yet. From the moment the company was founded, the boots were designed for people who spend all day, and often most of their lives, in the snow. And hidden in plain sight, on the feet of every ordinary resident of the snowiest place in the world, were two fundamental principles that shaped FUBUKI:
